Technology Sectors

Aicia works in over two hundred
different lines of investigation  which
for ease of localization have been
grouped into knowledge fields and,
within those into eight technology sectors.

In the top bar it is possible to get into a determined sector until reaching our current research and latest technological developments.

resumen sector:
Sources of energy that are diverse, safe, economically viable and compatible with protecting the environment are essential for sustainable social development

Research and technological development in the area of energy and environment should tackle the necessity of dealing efficiently with the dangers of climate change and responding effectively to the high demand for energy from mature economies and the rapidly growing needs of developing countries. AICIA has directed its lines of research towards this necessity in the last few years, giving priority to those projects and activities that actively contribute to cleaner energy production.

resumen sector:
Implementation of electronics and software for transmitting, storing, processing, synthesising, recovering and presenting information.

The design of digital, analogical and mixed electronic and microelectronic circuits and systems for using in communication, industrial control and aeronautical systems. Signal processing for communications, especially those based on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing techniques (OFDM), with one or various sources (MISO and MIMO). Design of receivers for mobile communications (Bluetooth, IEEE 802.15.4, UWB). Design of receivers for digital television (DVB-T/H/SH/S2/T2). Sensorial wireless networks (IEEE802.15.4, WiFi/WiFi-Mesh, Bluetooth). Bridges between different standards (IEEE 802.15.4, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPRS/GSM/UMTS) and with cable standards (Ethernet, CanBus, etc.). Cable communication systems, especially PLC.

resumen sector:
Structures are a basic part of any type of infrastructure.

Structures are a basic part of any type of infrastructure and should be suitably analyzed from the initial structural conception to monitoring its execution. AICIA activities in this sector include all those relating to structures and installations as well as the distribution networks of water, gas and hydrocarbons.

resumen sector:
The mechanical behaviour of materials determines the strength of any constructed element.

The study of the mechanical behaviour of materials is fundamental to the fatigue strength analysis of any constructed element made from them such as structures, machines, etc. Performance analysis of various materials are carried out at AICIA from the mechanical-resistance point of view.

resumen sector:
Development of new solutions for transport and mobility problems.

Development of new solutions for transport and mobility problems, on land, sea and air for passengers and freight. The focus is both scientific and technological, of the global system of transport as well as the subsystems involved (infrastructure, vehicles and systems)
