Applicability of CTE-HE1 Software to Dwellings Built with External Walls made of Thermo-clay Blocks, with the aim of Determining their Environmental, Energetic and Bioclimatic Properties

This project represents the second part of a series of studies proposed by Consorcio Termoarcilla to AICIA with the general aim of determining the environmental, energetic and bioclimatic properties of Thermo-clay Blocks.

The purpose of this project is to quantify the energetic behaviour of walls made of Thermo-clay Blocks versus conventional walls in residential buildings, taking into account the following requirements:

    1. Reduction of energy consumption for heating and cooling.

    2. Cutback in CO2 emissions due to the reduction of energy consumption mentioned previously.

    3. Improvement of comfort conditions when the space is not acclimatized.

    4. Potential of thermal storage thanks to the renewable energies (free solar energy gain and night cooling ventilation).

All this study has been made using compatible software with the Spanish Technical Building Code and taking models with and without Thermo-clay Blocks.
